MOMBASA STAKEHOLDER SENSITIZATION WORKSHOP, 12TH APRIL 2017

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) will hold a sensitization workshop for licensed individuals, firms and other energy stakeholders in and around Mombasa as shown below:

TARGET GROUPS

  • Electricians and Electrical Contractors
  • Energy Auditors, Biogas, Solar PV and Solar Water Heating Technicians and Contractors
  • Large Energy Consumers
  • Petroleum Transporters, Depot and Service Station Operators

TARGET COUNTIES

Kilifi, Kwale, Mombasa, Taita Taveta

TIME: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

VENUE: Sarova Whitesands Hotel, Mombasa

The objective of the workshop is to enhance best practices, raise levels of awareness on safety, discuss security challenges in the energy sector, regulatory compliance and applicable standards. The expected areas to be covered will include:

  • Petroleum retail station licensing requirements 
  • Liquefied Petroleum Gas   
  • Petroleum product quality
  • Regulations for Electrical Installation Work
  • Regulations on renewable energy and energy efficiency
  • Design and construction of electric supply lines
  • Training for renewable energy practitioners
  • Best practices in electrical contracting business
  • Designation of facilities
  • Petroleum transport regulations
  • Role of contractors in enabling universal access to electricity.
